My knee felt a little tweaked today.  Did the .25 mile warm-up, ran .75 miles at 6.2 mph, then stopped and stretched some more.  Once I finished that I ran 1.5 miles at 6.2 mph, then did a .75 mile cool down.  It's feeling better.

The girls are getting into it too. I think we might have a little runner in Reagan.  She's up to running .5 mile at 5.2 mph.  I think she could go a lot further, but I want it to stay fun for her.  Paige is more into walking than running, but at least she's wanting to give it a shot!

Tried it out again today.  My knee didn't really bother me.  I tried doing bare foot running, which was interesting.  It definitely helped me realize exactly how I run.  I did a .5 mile warm up, ran 1.5 miles, then walked another .5 miles. Hopefully I can at least keep up a routine like this moving forward.

Did barefoot again today.  I kept it really nice and slow.  Walked between 4.5 and 5 mph for the entire time.  My knee is still bothering me, but not hurting.  While I was out today I bought a new pair of running shoes and a foam roller.  I'm ready to get back into some running for reals!

Well, I think the new shoes and the foam roller made a HUGE difference!  Talk about pain!  Apparently I've been focusing on the wrong part of the IT band with my stretching, cuz holy crow, did it hurt farther down than I was expecting.  I did manage to actually do a little running and my knee feels great though!  Did .25 mile warm-up, ran 2.25 miles at 6.0 mph, then did a .6 mile cool down.  Total time was 32:49-only a few seconds different than yesterday.  Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come...

Feeling pretty good today.  Did a .25 mile warm-up, ran 2.50 miles at 6.0 mph, then did a .50 mile cool down.  Total time was 34:19.  Went to my chiropractor yesterday and he said my knee is looking pretty good, but to keep up with the rolling.  It didn't hurt nearly as much today as last week.

My knee is starting to bother me again, and the foam roller KILLLLLLLLS!!  I've also notice that my right gluts are tighter than usual again as well.  I guess it's lots of stretching and rolling in the near future.  For my run today I slowed it down again.  Did a .25 mile warm-up, ran 1 mile, walked .5, ran another 1 mile, and walked .5 miles for a cool down.  Did the foam roller before and after the run.  Now the outside of my thigh feels really sore for about 8 inches above my knee.  Hopefully I'll find the right combination of walking, rolling, stretching, and running SOON!

Today was just not a running day.  My knee didn't really bother me other than a few twinges her and there, but I just wasn't feeling it.  I think I'll be doing more and more walking from here on out.  Today I did a.25 mile warm-up, jogged .25 miles, walked .5 miles, jogged 1 mile, walked .25 miles, jogged .5 miles, then did a .5 mile cool down.  Total time was 36:26.  I'm glad I pushed myself to do something active today.

Today felt much better than yesterday.  I ended up feeling good enough to run longer than I thought I would.  The foam roller is getting down to just a specific spot that kills-yeah!  I did 1 lap walking with weights, walked 2 laps, jogged 2 miles, did 1 more lap with weights, then did a 1 lap cool down.  Total time was 35:52.

I think I'm coming down with a chest cold.  I took several breaks today to get my breathing right.  On the plus side, doing the roller didn't hurt my IT band at all-just felt a little sore.  Yeah!  Did .25 mile warm-up, jogged 1.25 miles, walked .25 miles, jogged 1 mile, then did a .5 mile cool down.  Total time was 34:46.

Feeling slightly better today, but definitely feeling the chest cold.  I didn't want to push it so I broke up the jogging with walking.  Did .5 mile warm-up, jogged 1 mile, walked .5 mile, jogged 1 mile, then did .25 mile cool down.  I really hope this cold goes away fast!  Still can't breathe at all during the night.  Total time was 35:34

I actually slept last night!  For the first time in over a month I wasn't waking up every 20 minutes because I couldn't breathe.  I think the cold is almost over, thank goodness!  The cough is still annoying, but I'll take it over the clogged but dripping nose any day.  Since I felt better today I tried another approach to the run.  Did .25 mile warm up, jogged 1.25 miles at 6.0 mph, then took it down a notch every lap until I ran a total of 2.9 miles.  Then I did a .6 mile cool down.  Total time was 38:09.

Today was my best run in a while.  I have discovered that I have to take a potty break so I can keep running though-the baby really likes to bounce on my bladder and it doesn't help with the run.  Did a .25 mile warm-up, jogged 1.25 miles, took a potty break, jogged 1.50 miles at 6.1 mph, then did a .5 mile cool down.  Total time was 36:34.

Didn't go running today, but we did take the kids on their very first hike to Stewart Falls.  The kids did much better than we expected for the most part-the girls didn't complain at all on the 2 miles in, and on the 2 miles back they just slowed down a little, but never really complained.  I'm definitely feeling the hike, but it was totally worth it!  The kids had a blast and we made some fun memories.

Still REALLY sore from the hike on Saturday, but I don't know why.  I can't remember the last time my calves were this sore.  Go figure.  Between that and the headaches that aren't going away, I wasn't really feeling the run today.  Did .25 mile warm up, jogged .75 miles, took a potty break, jogged 1 mile, walked .25 miles, jogged .75 miles, then did a .25 mile cool down.  Total time was 34:20.  My knee is still feeling pretty good, which is nice.  Now I just need my neck, shoulders, and head to follow suit.
