I'm back!  I've been debating for a couple of weeks now, and decided today that I couldn't take it anymore.  I have way too many sore and stiff spots that are from inactivity and a newborn.  It felt great!  I kept it to a leisurely walk, so I did about .50 mile at 4.7, then 1.5 miles at 4.5, then did a .25 mile cool down.  Can't wait to feel like running again!

Had to take a break due to a second round of strep last week.  Figured I should let my body fully recover before trying to get back into the exercise thing again.

Decided to do some jogging today and it felt good.  It's been really hard not pushing myself too hard too early because I feel great doing something.  I know I need to do it slowly though.  Did a .25 mile warm-up, jogged 1.25 miles at 5.6 mph, walked .5 miles at 4.8 mph, jogged another .5 mile at 5.7 mph, then did a cool down.  Total time was 32:00.

Tried a new workout today.  Did the weight loss workout on my treadmill for 30 minutes.  It had a speed range of 4.7 to 5.7 mph for most of it and an incline range of 1-5.  The hardest part for me was when it was on 5.2 mph and an incline of 4.  Without an incline that's my speed walk, but the incline just about killed my chins, calves, and feet.

I finally got some exercise in!  I can totally feel a difference in my body-and not in a good direction.  Did .25 mile warm-up, jogged 1 mile, walked .25, jogged 1.25 miles, then walked .5 miles.  Total time was 34:14.

I tried the incline at 2 for 99% of the time and it hurt the arches of my feet when I was walking.  I don't know if that means I need to stretch better or just get used to it.  The jogging felt pretty good.  I think the breakdown was something like .25 mile warm up, jogged 1.25 miles, walked .75 miles, jogged .75 miles, then did a .25 cool down.  Total time was 36:25.  Hopefully I'll get back into more of a routine soon-chocolate is not repulsive to me anymore and it's showing!

I have one word for my body today-SORE!!!!!  I decided to start incorporating some stomach exercises and push-ups into my stretching after the run and I am SERIOUSLY out of shape!  Oh well, that's why I'm starting to do it now.  I wanted to see what kind of stamina I had today so I kept the incline at 1.  Did a .25 mile warm-up, jogged 3 miles, then did a cool down.  Total time was 37:07.  I was pretty proud of myself that I lasted that long-I didn't think I could yet.

I'm starting to feel the groove of running again, which is so nice.  I'm hoping to get the rest of the pregnancy weight off before the end of May.  Did a .25 warm up, jogged 1.75 miles, then walked the rest of the way with an incline of 2.  Total time was 36:30.  My left calf is feeling weird still, so I think I'm going to have to break out the foam roller again-oh goodie.

Anyway, I did the weight loss program on the treadmill and it totally kicked my butt.  I did 35 minutes of it, with a max speed of 5.8 and an incline of 5.  My face was beet red when I finished.  oh well, at least I did something.  I have a $100 bet going with my husband to see who can lose their needed weight first-I need to lose around 10 and he's going for 15, maybe 20.

Did the weight loss program again today.  I upped the speed a tiny bit so I wouldn't get stuck in the walk or jog decision on the highest inclines.  Did 40 minutes with a top speed of 5.9 and top incline of 5.  Felt pretty good, but I did have to stop once to stretch out my legs-they were getting REALLY tight with the incline.

Man, I was just not feeling it today.  I'm feeling further and further away from where I thought I would be by now and it's really frustrating me.  Hopefully this week goes better.  I did the weight loss program again, but took several breaks and messed with the speed some too.  I did finish pretty strong though.  Total time was 40:00.

I am REALLY sore from yesterday.  At least it's in a good way though!  I did the weight loss program again and did much better than Monday.  Not great, but much better. Had a max speed of 5.9 and a max incline of 5 for 40 minutes.

I think Monday I was thrown off mentally after a phone call from my doctor.  Apparently I had abnormal results for my liver function from my physical a few weeks ago.  They didn't really explain what that meant and whether or not I should be worried, so I spent the day freaking out.  Now I've decided that there's no point in worrying about it.  I go in for another round of tests either tomorrow or Friday, so hopefully I can get some more answers then.  In a way I almost hope there is something that can be taken care of, because from what I've researched online it could be the cause of all the stomach/intestine issues I've been having for about 2.5 years now.

I really didn't feel like doing anything today, so I settled for walking in my pjs barefoot.  Once I got going I challenged myself with some incline, but kept it pretty loosy goosy.  Did 2.5 miles mostly around 4.8 mph and went back and forth from 2 to 3 on the incline.  Total time was 32:26.

For some reason, seeing snow this morning really made we want to run-go figure.  I'm trying to keep up with the bigger incline so I didn't go as fast as usual.  Did .25 mile warm-up, jogged 1.50 miles, walked .5 mile, jogged .75 mile, then did a .5 mile cool down.  I kept the incline at 2 about 90% of the time.  Total time was 40 minutes.

I think I'm feeling the groove again.  Although my calves and shins are KILLING me from all the incline stuff this week.  I settled for a nice slow jog with no incline.  Adam is trying to convince me that video games are a great distraction when running on a treadmill, so I gave it a go today.  It kind of worked, but I don't think I got as excited as he wanted me to.  Did a mile warm up, then jogged the rest of the time.  Total time was 40:00.

 On a different note, in looking up more stuff for the mysterious liver issue I apparently have, Adam found some research showing that cryptosporidium can sometimes(rarely) lead to liver failure if the immune system was compromised.  Also, I found that my symptoms were MUCH more extreme than normal.  So now we're playing a waiting game until Tuesday when the doctor is supposed to call back with the results from the second round of blood tests.

It is interesting, I agree. even 5 pounds is huge. I feel fast when I lose it and like I slug when I inevitably gain it back! I am a human YO-YO!

Nice work-out today, especially with the added incline! A 2 is HARD, I had to move down to a one for most of my runs.

Still feeling pretty blah.  I go see a GI doctor on Wednesday.  I'm almost hoping they just decide to take my gallbladder out.  I'm so done with stomach issues.  Did a .25 mile warm-up, jogged 2 miles, walked .25 miles, jogged .5 miles, and did a .5 mile cool down.  I did an incline of 2 the entire time, and even upped it to 3 for part of the cool down.  Total time was 38:45.

Lately I've been feeling about as good as the weather.  BLAH!!!  My tailbone is getting really tight and I think it's from all the incline stuff.  One of these years I'll actually make it back to the chiropractor again-I hope.  I tried out the barefoot running today and it didn't hurt my feet nearly as much as it has in the past.  Hopefully I'll start incorporating it into my routine at least once a week moving forward. 

Today I just did whatever floated my boat at the time.  I THINK it was something like .5 mile walk, jogged 2 miles, walked .25 miles, jogged .5 mile, then did a .5 mile cool down.  I kept the incline at 2 the entire time.  Total time was something around 46:30.

I think I'm catching on to the whole barefoot running thing.  I started off with my good running shoes on and almost immediately my heels started hurting.  I was curious to see if it was the shoe or me so I took my shoes off.  My heels didn't hurt at all the rest of the run.  Interesting....

I didn't have as much time as usual, so I tried pushing myself to see if I could get some speed going.  I think I did pretty good.  I kept the incline at a 2 and got the speed up to 6.5 mph for a little more than .5 mile.  it felt really good too!  yeah!!!!  Total time was 26:03.

I'm really feeling back in the exercise thing this week.  I met with the GI doctor yesterday and he's doing a bunch of blookwork and some not fun for me tests to see what's going on.  While we're doing that, I'm on a weird diet in my opinion.  Basically everything healthy, raw, and fresh is off the table for the next month.  No bran, fiber, whole grains, fruits, veggies, etc.  Basically I get white, processed flour, sugar cereals, and other carbs.  The only meat I'll eat is egg whites and broiled, skinless chicken.  No seasonings or anything.  Should be an interesting month.  I figure I'll either gain a bunch of weight or lose a bunch of weight.  As long as I feel better, I don't really care at this point.

Today's run was .25 mile warm-up, 1 miles at 6.5 mph, then every lap I went down a notch on the speed.  At the end I did .5 cool down.  Total time was 41:06.

I need to find a good multivitamin.  This weird diet thing just isn't cutting it for me nutrients wise.  I'm feeling really tired pretty much all the time.  Off to the store I shall go!  I will say that I've felt better the past four days than I have for a really long time now, so something is obviously working.

Did another barefoot run, I've decided they're my new favorite.  My heels don't hurt, my calves don't hurt, and my tailbone is less tight, which helps my knees.  And, I got another milestone today-I did a 5k in less than 30 minutes!  Yippee!  Did .25 mile warm up, ran 1.75 miles at 6.5 mph, then slowed it down a little every couple of laps until I hit 3.5 miles, then did a .5 mile cool down.  Kept the incline at 2 except for the last lap of the cool down.  Total time was 40:01.

The weather won yesterday.  I did less than nothing-and it felt good!  Didn't really commit to the run today, but at least I finished it.  Did .25 mile warm-up, ran 1.5 miles at 6.5 mph, then I can't remember.  I know I jogged at at least .75 miles, then walked the rest of it???  That sounds about right.  I did keep the incline at a 2.  Total time was 43:06.

Talked to the GI's office yesterday.  They said all my blood work was normal, which is good.  I guess they did a lot of testing for vitamin deficiencies, so I'm glad that's not an issue.  Sooo, they've postponed the fun tests for me.  For now they just want me to stick to the IBS diet for a month, then add one food a week to isolate what is giving me the most problems.  In the meantime, I'm going to do a lot of research into recipes and snacks that should be okay for me to have.  It looks like to get rid of my issues is going to require a total change towards food.  I have discovered that dairy is no longer my friend.  :((((((((((

Adam had to go in early this morning, so I did the indoor track at the Legacy Center while the girls had swim practice.  It was my first time of running with the double jogging stroller and it was WAY harder than I anticipated.  I ended up walking probably 60% of the time.  I'm pretty sure on the distance and I think the time was around 25 or 30 minutes.  Since sticking to my diet again the past few days my stomach is finally settling down and feeling good. 

We ended up adding some miles this afternoon with a friend.  We grabbed all the kiddos and headed down to the sno-asis for some snow cones.  YUM!

Yesterday was a bad day.  Today I decided to do a confidence booster run so I kept the incline at 1.  Did .5 mile warm-up, ran 1.5 miles at 6.3 mph, ran 1.25 miles at 6.5 mph, then did .5 mile cool down.  The only break I took was to help Tyson with something.  Total time was 38:39.

Not too bad for a Monday.  Did .25 mile warm-up, ran 2 miles at 6.5 mph, ran 1.25 miles at 6.4 mph, then did a .5 mile cool down.  Had the incline at 2 for 1.5 miles, then at 1 the rest of the way.  I'm really hoping to see my chiropractor this week.  My tailbone is getting out so far I think it's starting to bug my knee again.  No bueno.

Today started out with me forcing myself to do anything at all.  Once I got into it a little bit, I started to run, but my right ankle was giving me a lot of problems so I settled in for a nice speed walk.  After a little longer, my ankle felt better so I ran some more.  I kept the incline at 2 the entire time.  I think I ended up running about 3.25 miles and walking the other 1.25, including the warm-up and cool down.  Total time was 48:00

Life has gone crazy this month.  Oh well, that's how it goes I guess.  It felt REALLY good to do an actual run today.  I've done some walking here and there, but nothing strenuous the past three weeks.  I did make it in to see my chiropractor which was FABULOUS!!  My tailbone isn't hurting nearly as much as it was.  My tummy troubles seem to be making progress as well.  That coupled with some really good sleep this weekend resulted in feeling good enough (and actually having the time) to get a good workout in.  

 Did a .25 mile warm-up, ran 3.25 miles, then did a .5 mile cool down.  I did keep the incline at 1 the whole time because I knew I wouldn't have time to do a lot of stretching when I finished.  Total time was 40:24.  Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come.

I didn't think I would get a run in today, so I'm really happy with it.  I'm definitely sore from yesterday's run, but I figured the sooner I get back into a routine, the sooner the soreness goes away.  I didn't do as much of a warm-up today because I wanted to see if I could maintain a faster pace for a while.  I kept the incline at 1 again.  Did a .1 mile warm-up, ran 2.5 miles at 6.5 mph (felt really good and wanted to keep going, but not enough time), then did a .5 mile cool down.  Total time was 30 minutes.

Went to Tahoe for the week and we were able to get out and do a couple of runs together.  Short, sweet, and to the point.  This first one didn't go so well-my back was really bothering me and I just didn't feel well.  It was pretty to see all the nature though!

That night we were able to go on a date.  Since EVERYTHING closes at 5, we ended up walking up and down Tahoe City a couple of times.  Beautiful sunset and great company so I called it a success!

Ok, need to swap this entry and Friday's, but I have no clue how to do it easily.  Oh well.  Did some more walking-today it was from the dock back to our cabin with my niece.  It was really hilly and it was the day after our impromptu hike, so our butts HURT!!!!!  Still, I was able to get some good stretching in when we got back so I guess it worked out okay in the end.

Finally got on the treadmill again.  This time I tried running on the balls of my feet to see if it helped with my calf muscles-well, the muscle behind the calf muscle really- and it helped a lot.  Usually my legs bother me the rest of the day after a run, mostly just extreme soreness.  But today when I finished and did some stretching they didn't even feel tight.  I think it might take a while to get used to it, but hopefully this trend continues.

Did .1 mile warm-up, ran/jogged 2.5 miles, then did .5 mile cool down.  Total time was 31:46.  I kept the incline at a 1 and probably will for the next while unless I get really brave.

A fried is working on getting back in shape and has decided to train for a half marathon.  She is starting really slow and just walking for an hour every night for now.  I joined her about half way through her walk.  Hopefully we'll do this often-I think I push her a lot harder than she would push herself.  I'm impressed that she's really doing it though-go Farrah!!

Took the kids to the pool today.  It felt great!

I had a lot of energy this morning, so the run felt great.  I even upped the speed a little bit because I kept hitting the front of the treadmill.  I ran on the balls of my feet again and it's really helping my calves.  Now I wish I tried it a long time ago.

This morning started out pretty rough courtesy of the gluttonous birthday celebrations this weekend for my husband.  In the end it was alright.  My glutes are getting really tight again so I think time with the foam roller is in my near future this week.

Today felt really good.  I've had some kind of stomach bug the past few days, at least I'm pretty sure that's what it was. Either way, it felt really good to run today. Today started off crappy, and just went down hill after that.  I swear there was some kind of crazy in the air today for children.  I missed my run this morning, but managed to get a good walk in with Farrah.  One of these days, I'll have to actually clock the route we're taking to see how long it really is.  It felt really good to get something in for the day in any case.  Took about an hour.

I'm feeling the groove coming back, slowly but surely.  I only had 1 break during the run today.  Did .1 mile warm-up, ran 3 miles, then did .4 mile cool down.  Did the 5k in 28:33 and the total time was 33:38.  My legs are feeling really good with the whole running on the toes things.

Not too bad of a run.  I started feeling a little funny about half way through, so I slowed down to a walk.  After a few minutes of that I felt better, so I picked up the pace to a run to finish it out.  By the end I felt pretty good-just really tight.  I have a feeling I'll have to start slowing things down in the next month or so, but my legs are holding out much better than last time so far.

One word for the past ten days-ALLERGIES!!!!!!!  They have hit us hard and made me miserable.  So, instead of running I've been eating chocolate and sleeping.  Today I'm determined to start exercising again.  Legs are still feeling pretty good, although the run today managed to give me blisters on the arches of my feet.  Very weird.

Did .1 mile warm up, ran 3 miles(6.4 mph for most of it, then 6.0 for the last .5 mile), started a cool down for .3 miles, then decided to do some slower walking on an incline of 3 for .4 miles, then a cool down for the last .2 miles.  Finished a 5k in 29:53, total time was 41:47.

The pads of my feet are not used to the barefoot running anymore.  I think I might have some new blisters. On the plus side, I'm pretty sure my weirdness issues are related to what I've been eating rather than something wrong.  I just need to be more disciplined with what I eat I guess.

My asics duomax are giving me some serious blisters lately on the arches of my feet.  Starting to feel some serious weight gain the past few weeks, and I can't identify if its just how it is, or I'm not eating very well.

Finally got around to running again.  Our treadmill had a glitch and needed to get fixed, then Adam has recently decided to exercise every time he's home.  Since this has NEVER happened before, I figured sacrificing my runs for a little while isn't too big of a deal.  I've been feeling pretty sick lately anyways.  

I've definitely hit the 'slow it down' phase.  My feet are starting to ache, and I think little miss is not appreciating the bouncing around now that she's getting serious about growing.  I kept things nice and slow, and switched from jogging at 6.0 mph to walking somewhere between 4.3 and 4.8 mph depending on my feet and stomach.  I think overall I jogged maybe 2.25 miles of the 3.6.  Total time was somewhere around 41 minutes.  Lots of stretching is needed the rest of today.
