Went to Tahoe for the week and we were able to get out and do a couple of runs together.  Short, sweet, and to the point.  This first one didn't go so well-my back was really bothering me and I just didn't feel well.  It was pretty to see all the nature though!

That night we were able to go on a date.  Since EVERYTHING closes at 5, we ended up walking up and down Tahoe City a couple of times.  Beautiful sunset and great company so I called it a success!

Ok, need to swap this entry and Friday's, but I have no clue how to do it easily.  Oh well.  Did some more walking-today it was from the dock back to our cabin with my niece.  It was really hilly and it was the day after our impromptu hike, so our butts HURT!!!!!  Still, I was able to get some good stretching in when we got back so I guess it worked out okay in the end.

Went for a run in the morning (not nearly as hilly as the last one), then did some unplanned hiking in the afternoon to Emerald Bay.  Much more of a hike than I realized and my calves are still sore four days later...

Finally got on the treadmill again.  This time I tried running on the balls of my feet to see if it helped with my calf muscles-well, the muscle behind the calf muscle really- and it helped a lot.  Usually my legs bother me the rest of the day after a run, mostly just extreme soreness.  But today when I finished and did some stretching they didn't even feel tight.  I think it might take a while to get used to it, but hopefully this trend continues.

Did .1 mile warm-up, ran/jogged 2.5 miles, then did .5 mile cool down.  Total time was 31:46.  I kept the incline at a 1 and probably will for the next while unless I get really brave.

A fried is working on getting back in shape and has decided to train for a half marathon.  She is starting really slow and just walking for an hour every night for now.  I joined her about half way through her walk.  Hopefully we'll do this often-I think I push her a lot harder than she would push herself.  I'm impressed that she's really doing it though-go Farrah!!

Took the kids to the pool today.  It felt great!

I had a lot of energy this morning, so the run felt great.  I even upped the speed a little bit because I kept hitting the front of the treadmill.  I ran on the balls of my feet again and it's really helping my calves.  Now I wish I tried it a long time ago.

Did .1 mile warm-up, ran 3 miles, then did a .4 mile cool down.  Ran a 5k in 29:35.  Feeling tight, but good. Total time was 34:45.

This morning started out pretty rough courtesy of the gluttonous birthday celebrations this weekend for my husband.  In the end it was alright.  My glutes are getting really tight again so I think time with the foam roller is in my near future this week.

Did .1 mile warm-up, ran 3 miles, then did a .4 mile cool down.  Finished a 5k in 29:15 and had a total time of 34:25. 

 Went walking with Farrah at night.  Did 4 laps around the neighborhood.

I've decided I'm going to start adding in all the trips to the pool for the rest of the summer.  Just to see how it adds up and to make me feel better.  It's just under 1 mile there and back.

Today felt really good.  I've had some kind of stomach bug the past few days, at least I'm pretty sure that's what it was. Either way, it felt really good to run today. I even upped the speed to 6.6 mph for more than half the time.  Did .1 mile warm-up, ran 3 miles, jogged .5 miles, then did a .5 mile cool down.  I did the 5k in 28:45 and had a total time of 38:52.

Also did a trip to the pool and took the kids on a walk after dinner.

Today started off crappy, and just went down hill after that.  I swear there was some kind of crazy in the air today for children.  I missed my run this morning, but managed to get a good walk in with Farrah.  One of these days, I'll have to actually clock the route we're taking to see how long it really is.  It felt really good to get something in for the day in any case.  Took about an hour.

I'm feeling the groove coming back, slowly but surely.  I only had 1 break during the run today.  Did .1 mile warm-up, ran 3 miles, then did .4 mile cool down.  Did the 5k in 28:33 and the total time was 33:38.  My legs are feeling really good with the whole running on the toes things.

A nice trip to the pool that involved me walking Sarah around around in circles trying to get her to sleep.  Fun times.

I really have no clue how far I walked today.  I ended up being a runner at the county swim meet, so for about 3.5 hours all I did was walk around the pool delivering things to different people.  By the time I made it home my feet were ON FIRE!!!!  There were some lulls though, so I estimated down.

another trip to the pool.  I'm really not feeling well after yesterday, so I am laying super low for today and maybe even the whole weekend if the achy/cramping feeling doesn't go away soon....
